Time Management Videos

What to do today?

Alone, with a partner or as a group, look at the folliowing list of "tips" and decide which are the best.  Come up with your own list from these. 

  1. What do I have to do?

  2. Create a life schedule

  3. Be flexible but realistic

  4. Allow time for planning to avoid repetition

  5. Avoid procrastination and distraction

  6. Exercise to clear your head between study sessions

  7. Has my organisation been effective?

  8. Use your school planner to stay organized.

  9. Set achievable goals

  10. Organize some key areas in your life, for example your bedroom, study area, car and locker.

  11. Schedule the most difficult tasks for times when you are alert.

  12. Establish a regular time and place for study.

  13. Prepare and organize whatever possible the night before.

  14. Get a Good Night's Sleep.

  15. Make a to-do list every day

  16. Find your productive time...morning, after school, evening

  17. Create a dedicated study time

  18. Figure out how much time you usually spend on your activities and then create a weekly schedule to follow.

  19. Don’t get sidetracked

 

1. Each group will be assigned 2 videos to watch.  You may choose to have everyone in the group watch both of the videos or divide the group in two, having each group watch only one.

2. Having watched the videos, choose the best tips from each and be prepared to report back to the class about the video and the suggestions it makes. You should also give your opinions on whether or not the tips would be effective.  Remember, they may not work for you but could work for someone else.

3. Choose 1 or 2 of the group to present to the class.

1. Using the week planner attached below, you will keep track of the amount of time you spend on each activity from when you wake up till you go to bed each day for a week.  If you have time during study skills today, please fill out what you have done up until this moment.
