Referencing at Egham

What can I do with these presentations?

Many students have problems distinguishing one source from another when they encounter them online.  For example, students often mistake chapters from books which appear in PDF format for webpages or journal articles.  Moreover, they are as likely to cite anything they encounter on a website as a webpage when it might be any number of different types of sources.  The slide presentations below were created to assist students in understanding the difference and to provide materials for teachers to use as part of their lessons.

How to Reference...

When Is A Web Page not a Web Page?

This may sound like the lead in to a joke but it is a question researchers have to ask themselves every time they look at a source on the Internet and try to decide if it is going to be useful to them and how they will reference it.  This slide presentation may help you make those decisions.
